Hartlepool’s Danielle Marshall beats Serbian champ Bojana Dragicevic

Danielle Marshall lit up Hartlepool’s Mayfair JD Sports Domes with the performance of her young life.

The teenager, only just turned 16, displayed her quality by outclassing Bojana Dragicevic over three rounds at the Seaton Carew venue.

Hartlepool Catholic Club’s coaches had ‘employed’ the Serbian youth champion as a test of her international credentials given the European Junior Championships take place this year.

Marshall passed with flying colours and she should be wearing the England vest in Russia.

Dynamite Danielle, with the first lady of Hartlepool boxing Amanda Coulson, head coach Paul Allen and Darren Ringwood in her corner, produced a supreme performance.

Her left hand was the key weapon, establishing control with her jab and scoring at will.

To the credit of Dragicevic, the Balkan boxer was not just in town to see the sights and she let both fists go in a display of ambition.

However, this was the night of the Marshall and she really stepped on the gas in the last, landing her left with venom and driving in numerous left-right combinations to the head.

It was no surprise the Serbian was given a standing eight count and she came back with a good long right of her own to the head, but there was only one winner, and a decisive winner as Marshall registered the 21st success of her flourishing young career.
