Tommy Ward is back and set for MTK Global debut in Brentwood

Hands up who has missed this fella? Quite a lot I see.

You don’t have to wait much longer to watch him again.

Tommy Ward will make his MTK Global debut on Saturday, July 20 in Brentwood.

The unbeaten 25-year-old will box over eight rounds against an, as yet, unnamed opponent, on a show which will be screemned by ESPN and IFLTV.

Super Tom left his supporters drooling (not to mention new viewers of this special talent) after an absolute masterclass in Kansas in February when he outclassed America’s Jesse Angel Hernandez.

However, since that stunning show, which won him the vacant NABA-USA super-bantamweight belt and moved him ever nearer of a crack at the WBO championship, he has been inactive.

That is not to say the Co Durham talent has been doing nothing, far from it.

The Neil Fannan and Dave Garside boxer has been training hard in Fanno’s Gym in Hartlepool and has also joined the flourishing Mack The Knife organisation.

And his MTK debut is just around the corner.

“It’s nice for Tom to get a date,” Fannan told punch-lines.

“It was getting to a point where I was going to have to give him some time off!

“He’s never been out of the gym so he needed a fight or a break, and it’s great he’s got a fight.

“There’s no opponent yet, but he’s got eight rounds which is just the job.”

The NE Security-sponsored star is in the form of his life, having won all 26 of his contests.
