Tommy Ward hopes MTK Global will make him the world champion

ARE MTK Global taking over the world?

They appear to be and their newest signing, Tommy Ward, hopes their Global brand, if you forgive the pun, will take him to the very top.

The unbeaten super-bantamweight, rated at three by the WBO, is on the cusp of a world title shot and he hopes his new promoters will be the organisation to deliver it.

“I’m pleased to be teaming up with MTK Global because I believe they can get me the biggest and best fights out there, so I’m really looking forward to it,” said the 25-year-old who will remain in his Hartlepool team of coach Neil Fannan and manager, Dave Garside.

“MTK Global are doing fabulous things and getting fighters the best opportunities out there for them and are doing the job right.

“Now that I’ve joined MTK Global I’m aiming for world titles.

“I want the biggest fights possible and I believe I can win world titles in multiple weight divisions.

“I believe fans will see a lot more of me now and see me in big fights.”

MTK Global have hundreds of boxers on their books and promote shows on a regular basis – they were in the North-East recently for a huge event at the Newcastle Eagles Community Arena.

With Ward now one of their highest-rated world boxers, they are almost certain to return to the region in 2019.

MTK Global star names include two of Britain’s major powers, Billy Joe Saunders and Tyson Fury, and Ward hopes the Mack the Knife magic will work for him too.

“I’m confident that MTK Global will deliver for me and produce good things,” added the Co Durham talent.

“I’ve been under the radar for a bit, but now I’m going to be on the big stage and everyone will start to take notice and see what I’m all about.”

Ward is as gifted a boxer you will see.

With two British title wins and an IBF European championship success under his belt, he went to America earlier this year to clinch his best win to date.

Taking on fellow-WBO-rated super-bantam Jesse Angel Hernandez, the NE Security-sponsored boxer took apart the Texan in an amazing performance in Kansas.

Ward won 98-90, 99-90 and 100-89 on points and even won the NABA-USA super-bantamweight belt to boot.

That was proof he is ready to conquer the world and with MTK Global he intends to do just that.
