Robbie Davies Jnr says his double title showdown with Glenn Foot will be the fight of the night in Newcastle.
The 29-year-old is confident he will take the North-East star’s Commonwealth light-welterweight belt and the vacant British championship.
Foot v Davies Jnr is the chief support to Lewis Ritson against Francesco Patera for the European lightweight crown but the Scouser thinks Sunderland v Liverpool will outshine England v Belgium.
“Patera is not lasting a round,” smiled Davies. “He’s getting flattened.
“Me and Glenn are going to steal the show.”
Davies says the bookies have got the odds right by making him odds on favourite.
“I think so,” said the WBA continental champ, who believes now is his time to step up and win both belts.
“My career has been moving at a good pace now and it would be bad for me to take a step backwards now.
“I can’t afford to slip up here, it’s a must-win fight for me.
“I’ve prepared the best I can possibly prepare, there are no niggles, I feel fantastic.
“[At the Metro Centre] My trainer had to say to me in the ring ‘calm down, it’s only an open work-out’ and I was ‘right, OK, fair enough’!”
This is the British championship debut for Davies though he does have five WBA Continental bouts under his belt, winning all but one of them.
“I could have fought for the British title a year or so ago, against a lesser opponent than Glenn,” Davies told punch-lines. “At the time we were looking to climb the world rankings and had a fight lined up on another TV network and was getting more money, so we left the British alone.

“This is different now, it’s Matchroom, Sky Sports, it’s Glenn and it’s in a big arena.
“I felt this is what I needed. Before I even saw the contract I was ready to sign it.”
Davies has penned a three-fight deal with Matchroom, but says he is not dreaming about what might be round the corner with promoter Eddie Hearn.
“My sole thought is getting the win on the night, nothing else,” said the Kirkby fighter. “I never look past an opponent, never look to the future.
“Glenn is not an opponent I can look past, I’m fully focused on this job.”
