Josh Kelly, Lewis Ritson Newcastle media bash today, but who else will fight in June?

Just what can we expect Eddie Hearn to deliver when he addresses the media today?

The press conference is due to begin at 1pm on Tuesday at Newcastle Civic Centre where the Matchroom Boxing supremo will officially unveil his June 16 show at the Metro Radio Arena.

We already know the two headline acts, reigning British lightweight champion, Lewis Ritson, and the new WBA international welterweight title holder, Josh Kelly.

Newcastle’s big-hitting sporting son Ritson will attempt to win the Lonsdale Belt outright by defeating Paul Hyland Jnr in the battle of the unbeaten 9st 9lb men.

But who and what can we expect for Kelly?

The Sunderland talent has raced to his first belt at incredible speed, expertly directed by coach, Adam Booth. He produced another dazzling display to outpoint former world champion Carlos Molina in Cardiff on the Anthony Joshua- Joseph Parker undercard so it will be intriguing to see what Booth and Hearn have up their sleeves next.

Certainly the dual attraction of the North-East’s hottest stars will bring in the crowds.

But who else will Eddie announce today?

The last time Hearn was at the Metro Radio Arena, he had AJ with him, but since that April 2015 evening, Anthony Joshua has gone on to conquer the world.

It will be interesting to see who Eddie will put on the event, especially from a North-East perspective.

Sunderland’s Glenn Foot is a strong candidate, as must be comeback man, Anthony Nelson.

North-East fight figures, Phil Jeffries and Steve Wraith, are likely to have a slot or two on the bill so it will fascinating to discover who will feature on the undercard.

All will be revealed this afternoon. It’s almost time for the talking to start!
