Danielle Marshall has international test at Mayfair JD Sports Domes

A girl called Marshall headlining a show in Hartlepool. Sounds good, doesn’t it?

This particular fighter is not Savannah, the former world champion and now a pro, but Danielle.

The Catholic Club boxer, recently turned 16, will top the Hartlepool team’s show at the Mayfair JD Sports Domes on Friday night.

Danielle Marshall faces Serbia’s junior champion, Bojana Dragicevic, at the venue which is currently at the centre of the North-East amateur boxing scene.

In its previous existence as the Mayfair Centre, the first lady of Hartlepool boxing, Amanda Coulson, wowed many a Thursday night sell-out audience as the Catholic Club star stormed to the top of he sport.

And, for Danielle, this is part of her journey from being a top national talent to being an international competitor.

Catholic Club head coach, Paul Allen said: “This will be the standard of the girls she will hopefully meet in the European Championships for England if she is selected.

“Danielle won another junior national title last month and she is now in training with England in preparations for the Tri-Nations in Scotland next year.

“Hopefully, she’ll win selection for the Junior European Championships in Russia later this year, so the club decided to make t

This though is a big night for Marshall and Allen thanked the club sponsors for backing this event.

“We couldn’t have done this without the help and support from local business people,” he said.

“Hartlepool Catholic Boxing club would like to say a big thank you to them.”
