Tyne, Tees & Wear boxing enjoyed a good day at the pre-quarter finals of England’s Senior Elite championship.
Five took to the ring to Huddersfield this Saturday and four emerged victorious to go through to the finals weekend of the competition.
Birtley trio, Jake Slater, Isaac Milburn and Ben Rees all won at Huddersfield Leisure Centre, with Geordie, Michael Jobson, also progressing.
The quartet will box in the quarter-finals, which will be held at the SportsDock at the University of East London Friday, April 20.
Success in the Eastend will gain entry into the semi-finals the following day at the same venue.
The finals will be staged at the iconic York Hall on Sunday, April 21.
Slater (pictured) went through at U60 kilos, beating UKAF’s Kieren Bailey on a split decision.
At U64 kilos, Milburn was a winner on all the judges’ cards when he defeated Dwayne Bailey, from Jawaid Khaliq ABC.
Walkerfield star Jobson was a split decision winner against Parkstone’s Lee Cutler at U75 kilos.
At U81 kilos, Rees was a unanimous victor the he saw off Sheffield City’s William Simpson.
TTW were denied a full house after Sunderland lost to London at U69 kilos, Romanio Wallace given a unanimous verdict against Travis Waters.
