Tyne, Tees & Wear Senior Elite champions head to Huddersfield

Tyne, Tees & Wear’s Senior Elite champions are heading to Huddersfield this Saturday as they continue their journey in the competition.

The West Yorkshire town is the stage for the pre quarter-finals.

The Mayfair JD Sports Domes hosted the first Tyne, Tees & Wear finals, with Birtley pair Jake Slater and Isaac Milburn and East Durham’s Adam Gair taking the first titles to be boxed.

In the latest finals, Sunderland’s gifted southpaw Travis Waters clinched the TTW U69 title when he outpointed Alex Farrell. One of the stars of the Seaton Carew show, Joe Laws, was forced to pull out of the tournament through illness.

Michael Jobson, from Walkerfield, lifted the U75 kilo crown when he beat Houghton southpaw, Sol Starke, on points.

The U81 kilo title went Birtley’s way when Ben Rees (pictured) outpointed James Tyers, from East Durham.
