Adam Gair-Perry Howe: Unbeaten cruiser to star again on next Jobes Boxing show in Newcastle

Having hosted one of the best shows of 2021 on their promotional debut, Jobes Boxing is the first out of the blocks for 2022.

Newcastle’s newest boxing promoters plan a 10-fight card at their second event at Newcastle City Juniors Centre in Benwell on Saturday, February 26.

Their inaugural show, staged in association with Phil Jeffries, at the Gateshead Hilton last month was a smash hit so if this is only half as good then fans can anticipate a belter.

Adam Gair, who topped the bill in spectacular fashion that night with a first-round derby stoppage against Jone Volau, is back out in Benwell.

The undefeated Hetton cruiserweight (pictured), a member of the Wallsend Boxing Academy, will take on Sheffield’s Perry Howe, who has lost only once in five appearances.

His WBA team-mates, Jordan Barker-Porter and Kerry Haley will also be in action.

Durham fighter Barker-Porter is yet to be matched while Consett boxer Haley will make her debut against experienced Hungarian Klaudia Vigh.

There will also be a first professional date for Sam Wallace, one of a trio of Jobes Boxing stars.

The Newcastle fighter was due to box on the Hilton event, only to be ruled out by injury. Here he will be up against Stockport’s Jamie Quinn.

Team-mate Nathan Cummiskey, who made a successful pro debut in November, has been matched with Carlisle’s Jake Osgood.

Fellow Geordie, Enrico Samba, who was involved in an entertaining draw on his first paid bout in Gateshead, faces Dale Arrowsmith, from Stockport, will be looking to build on his opening Jobes contest.

Marden’s Matt McCallum was involved in one of the fights of the night at the Hilton where he got the better of Greg O’Neil in a rip-roaring super-middleweight derby.

And the Dean Preston-trained prospect’s third pro contest will be eagerly awaited at Newcastle City Juniors with Lewis van Poetch, from Sussex.

So too will be the fourth appearance of Daryll Hall, who is matched with Halifax heavyweight Rhys Kaney who has two wins and a defeat thus far.

Hall, from Durham, and managed by Jeffries, is probably better known for his football career, having spent many years as a defender in the Northern League and has even played at Wembley.

Sam Menzies, who boxed superbly at the Hilton dinner show, is also booked to box in Benwell but, as yet, is unmatched.

There is a guest at the event from north of the border. Unbeaten Scottish heavyweight prospect Kaseem Saleem, with three consecutive wins so far, faces Kilburn’s Ricky Gamble who has a win and defeat on his fight log.
