MTK boxers will spearhead North-East boxing’s next event.
Chad Ellis, Jay Hughes and Darren Reay, with 17 wins between them and no defeats, all box on Friday, March 29 in Dunston.
The trio are on the show staged at the Lancastrian Suite by Black Flash Promotions in association with Mark Clauzel.
There are three other boxers in action, returning Newcastle welterweight Basi Razak, unbeaten Hartlepool middleweight, Savannah Marshall, and debutant Gary Dodds.
Hughes, from Trimdon, will take on Stockport’s Jamie Quinn, who was in the region last month as the opponent to John Green.
Jay has accrued seven successive victories, including a thrilling derby success over Kris Pilkington in his previous date at the Lancastrian Suite.
Reay comes up against Lee Williams next weekend, the Londoner having, currently, lost all three of his paid appearances.
The Bedlington terrier was held to a draw by a very good Russian, Boris Shikunov, when he boxed in Dunston last September, but hit back a month later by hammering Bulgaria’s Samuil Dimitrov to a first-round defeat at the Metro Radio Arena. He is pictured above celebrating his great (and quick) work.
Ellis also defeated Bulgarian opposition that night on the Lewis-Ritson-Francesco Patera undercard in Newcastle, outpointing Angel Emilov.
But the Spennymoor light-middleweight has been handed a tricky one at the Lancastrian Suite – the wily William Warburton.
Warby has a loss list longer than Chad’s arms, but if the Lancashire lad fancies it, watch out.
On the subject of Spenny, Dodds will be making his first professional appearance after an excellent career with Spennymoor ABC.
He will face Londoner Jordan Grannum over four rounds in Dunston.
Razaq, managed by Clauzel, will be in action for the first time since September 2017, when he boxes at the Lancastrian Suite.
Marshall has made a super start as a professional with five wins on the spin, the highlight being her triumph in the vacant WBA Inter-Continental super-middleweight title clash with Argentine hardcase, Yanina Orozco, in Sofia last October.
