Jordan Ellison beaten but unbowed in latest road trip in London to Jeff Ofori

Travel junkie Jordan Ellison lost out on his latest excursion but his confidence remains unbowed,

The Seaham boxer was beaten 59-56 by Jeff Ofori after six rounds at the famous York Hall on Saturday night.

It made it two away defeats on the spin for the 23-year-old who lost 59-55 to ex-Welsh champion Craig Woodruff in Newport earlier this month.

Ellison, who clinched an outstanding points triumph over Sean ‘Masher’ Dodd in Liverpool at the end of November, gave it a “proper go” in East London against the unbeaten Tottenham boxer.

The Gus Robinson Developments boxer was competitive throughout, winning the opening session and sharing the last two against the 28-year-old who extended his 100 per cent record to nine victories.

“He wasn’t a million miles away, but it was a fair result,” said coach Peter Cope, who trains Ellison at the West View Road gym.

“Jordan does what Jordan does, he goes to the other kid’s back yard and gives it a proper go.

“Ofori was a bit handy, slinging in shots from all over, but I was pleased with Jordan. He’ll be ready to go again when the next call comes.”

It was Ellison’s 21st defeat against 11 victories

British Warrior Boxing Promotions staged the show in Bethnal Green where, in the main event, Jez Smith was stopped in eight rounds by Samuel Antwi in a London derby for the Southern Area welterweight title.
