The Washington boxer progresses today through the round of 16 stage at the Gold Coast, where he knocked out Grenada’s Jonathan Francois in the final round.
Pat dominated procedings at the Oxenford Studios and showed his finishing power by taking out the Caribbean fighter in the last round.
The European Championship silver medallist will now face Musa Bwogi in the quarter-finals on Tuesday, when success against the Ugandan would guarantee him at least a bronze medal.
However, the 22-year-old Birtley star (pictured above in the centre) is in Australia looking for nothing less than gold at welterweight.
Brother Luke is in round of 16 action on Sunday, when he takes on Northern Ireland’s Sean McComb in a battle of Britain at ligfht-welterweight.
The McCormacks’ club and country comrade, Calum French, is the last of the Birtley trio to enter the tournament.
He will box Pakistan’s Ali Ahmad in the round of 16 on Monday.
