Seven days to go.
The clock is counting down to Josh Kelly climbing through the ropes at the Principality Stadium to contest his first title in just his sixth pro fight.
The Sunderland star will fight ex-IBF World champion, Carlos Molina, for the WBA International welterweight title.
Kelly’s clash with the Mexican is part of a huge night of action in Cardiff where Anthony Joshua headlines the night against Joseph Parker in their world heavyweight unification blockbuster.
The Adam Booth-trained mover has made only five pro appearances, compared to 38 by his opponent, who has performed at the highest level.
But the 24-year-old told punch-lines.co.uk: “I feel ready for this and Adam definitely says I am and that it’s time for me to step up.
“I’ve had a very good 12-week training camp and I’m ready to go.
“I feel great, all the hard work has been done and I can’t wait to box a top fighter like Molina.”
Kelly is looking forward to showing the 70,000 fans in attendance and the millions watching around the world something we have yet to see from the 2016 Olympian – his engine.
Thus far in his career, ‘Pretty Boy’ has been pretty rapid, seeing off his last four opponents inside the distance.
Molina is a different kettle of fish, as the Eddie Hearn-managed boxer acknowledges.
“I’ve sparred 15 to 20 rounds in the gym, every day,” explained Josh.
“That’s straight off, no stepping out for a rest.
“The rounds won’t be an issue at all, I’m looking forward to boxing a proven fighter. He’s a former world champion and has some chin.”
Kelly-Molina is just one part of an incredible line-up on Sky Box Office.
Ryan Burnett defends his WBA world bantamweight crown against Yonfrez Parejo, Alexander Povetkin puts his WBA and WBO junior titles against popular Liverpool heavyweight David Price and Welshman Joe Cordina fights for his first pro title against Andy Townend for the WBA international lightweight.
Ex-world champ Anthony Crolla returns to action against Edson Ramirez.
