Natasha Jonas plans to transfer her gym form into the ring when she continues her professional journey this weekend.
The 2012 World championship bronze medallist chases her fifth straight win in the paid ranks in Manchester this Sunday against Karina Kopinska.
Since ending her retirement last year, Jonas has made short shrift of her opponents, clinching all four victories inside the distance.
However, the 33-year-old aims to sharpen up her act at the Victoria Warehouse, where she is one of the principal support acts on the JD NXTGEN show on which Lewis Ritson makes the first defence of his British lightweight title against Joe Murray.
Jonas has been encouraged by her touch in Joe Gallagher’s gym in Bolton.
“I know the things I am doing in the gym with the lads if I can get them off against a female it’ll look class,” the Liverpool star told punch-lines.
“I just need to concentrate on transferring that over into a bout.”
Jonas has Polish opposition on the Matchroom event, just as she had on her first appearance in Newcastle last year.
And the former Olympian would love a repeat of that triumph over Monika Antonik when the southpaw was punch perfect.
“I still think my debut was one of my best performances,” she explained. “My shots were better, I was sharp.
“But since then I think I’ve been trying too hard, it’s been too forced.
“I definitely tried too hard in Liverpool, which was probably understandable given it was my first fight back home.”
Jonas will be up against an experienced foe with Kopinska having 36 pro appearances under her belt.
The Pole is a familiar figure on our shores, having fought both Katie Taylor and Chantelle Cameron on their professional debuts.
Taylor stopped the 28-year-old in the third round at Wembley in November 2016 while Cameron gained her victory by points in Cardiff last May.
However, Kopinska has recently fought for the world featherweight title so she will be no pushover for ex-Rotunda ABC star, who is sponsored by Morson, Manchester Joinery & Interiors, Nutri Bar and Applied Nutrition.
