Josh Kelly looks set to fight on the biggest boxing show on earth.
The unbeaten talent is believed to be a candidate for a slot on the world heavyweight unification showdown between Anthony Joshua and Joseph Parker.
Joshua will defend his WBA and IBF titles in Cardiff on March 31, when he will look to add the Kiwi’s WBO crown to his collection.
And the Sunderland star could take his next step towards his own world ambitions on the same bill at the Principality Stadium, live on Sky Sports Box Office.
Kelly has won all five of his professional contests, the last four inside the distance.
His most recent success was arguably his best, stopping vastly-experienced Frenchman Jean Michel Hamilcaro at the York Hall in London in December.
Trainer Adam Booth was keen for his gifted welterweight to have a 10-round international match before Christmas.
Hamilcaro, a former French, IBF International and WBC Mediterranean title challenger, had been expected to extend Kelly, only to end up running from the gifted Ryhope lad.
He could run, but he could not hide and was stopped in round six at the iconic Eastend auditorium.
A big fight in Cardiff looks an easy decision for his manager and promoter, Eddie Hearn – Kelly is loved by the TV audience and would be a natural choice for the undercard of Joshua v Parker.
He had been lined up to box as a ‘floater’ on the massive Wembley show last year when Joshua defeated Wladimir Klitschko, but there was no time for his bout.
