Jordan Ellison will start his boxing year with a crack at a title.
The 22-year-old takes on unbeaten Kent prospect Luke Gibb for the British Promoters Association Classic Challenge Belt on Saturday, February 24.
Ellison has established himself as a travel-anywhere fighter so a visit to the Maidstone Leisure Centre will not faze him.
The Gus Robinson Developments super-featherweight has boxed as the away fighter, by choice, since joining the Hartlepool team.
And he has done it in some style, highlighted last time out by how he outpointed unbeaten prospect Colin Day over four rounds in Wigan in December.
Ellison had gone into the four-rounder on the back of three straight defeats, including two early stoppages.
But he returned to the winners enclosure with a 39-38 scoreline at the Robin Park Centre from star referee Steve Gray.
It was the fifth time Ellison has travelled away and defeated either an unbeaten boxer or a hometown ticket-seller.
“There is no-one in British boxing like Jordan,” said Gus Robinson Developments Peter Cope. “He goes away to win, not just survive.
“Just look how many unbeaten kids or ticket-sellers he goes and beats on the road.
“That is why we are not worried by this fight in Kent.
“Gibb has been a good lad in the amateurs of a long time but he’s not a young fella.
“He’s 28 and his people are getting him moved along quickly.
“Luke’s had three fights, all wins, and they are stepping him up to eight rounds here. It looks an interesting match.”
Ellison has won six times for the Gus Robinson Developments camp and has eight victories overall while he has lost on 12 occasions, 10 since his transfer to Hartlepool.
