Jordan Ellison beaten in Danger at the Docks, Redfearn, Maphosa, Hutchinson in action on road

Jordan Ellison suffered his third defeat in Belfast this year when he was stopped by Gary Cully at the Titanic Exhibition Centre.

Having previously been beaten by Davey Joyce and Marco McCullough, the Seaham and Hartlepool lightweight was halted by the referee 57 seconds into the third of six scheduled rounds.

Cully, from Naas, controlled the first two sessions at the Danger at the Docks show and carried that pressure into round three.

According to the report on Belfast Live ‘Ellison winced after a couple of spiteful body shots and the ref stepped in to halt proceedings’.

The won took Cully to 6-0 with Ellison now 10-18.

It is a busy night for North-East boxers with three of the region’s fighters in action.

Pride of place goes to Ferryhill’s unbeaten MTK light-heavy Kyle Redfearn who puts his record and jaw on the line against heavy German hitter Nick Hang in Wolfsburg over six rounds.

Further down the weight divisions, fellow unbeaten prospect Joe Maphosa is in Leicester where he tackles Hungary’s Gyulla Doda, who is the Universal Boxing Organisation’s international super flyweight champ. It’s scheduled for four rounds for Imran Naeem’s Thornaby talent.

Completing the North-East travelling contingent is Adam Hutchinson who is boxing over four rounds at the Lagoon Leisure Centre in Paisley.

The Darlington boxer survived a first-round Zaki Shirzad assault to register his first pro victory at Dunston last month and now chases his second as he comes up against another debutant Craig Morgan.
